I am sure Machine Mart or someone will do a Draper or Sealey one, but I'm a tart that likes shiney aluminium things []

As for receommendation, it jacks stuff up[8D] Seriously the only possible gripe is that the saddle is a little small, but then that is fairly typical of these budget jacks.
I don't recall how much room there was to spare on the C4S when I jacked it up recently which infers there was plenty of room, but then it is standard C4S suspension i.e. MO33 height so not exceptionally low.
I'm not at home at the mo' but I can measure the height at various points along the jacks length over the weekend if you wish?

I bought a couple of these from ebay ......
Does that mean you've got one spare then?[]

The one that seems to have been mentioned many times in the past is the Arcan Professional Low Lift Jack. Costco sell it for around £69 (+ VAT I think) but it's rated at 3000kg with a low saddle height of 89mm. There's a review here http://bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?p=988376#post988376.
It's not exactly light but it's very secure!!
You'll need an account at Costco - or know someone who has. I have a feeling they also do an aluminium one too but I can't remember the details I'm afraid.

I don't even need a jack, but this looks so good I will just have to buy one. I suffer from a mechanical and good design sickness[]

Ok who has a costco account in the midlands! Is it like makro where you can get a day pass or not - don't you paty an annual sub to them?
With the price of their Mobil 1 though it looks worth joining....
Jason,
Pick a location from the web site (http://www.costco.co.uk/) and open a company account for £20 + VAT per year. You can save a bundle on Mobil 1 - and the food prices aren't too bad either!!!
Regards
Dave
I bought one on the assumption that, as the RS is quite light, 1.25 tonnes would be enough as I would never want to jack up the whole car in one go. It's worked so far but will let you know if it all goes horrorbly wrong when I bleed the brakes and clutch this weekend.
