Low Mileage SC

Hi All
Just thought I'd share some information about my SC on the forum and add to what is already posted.
I have 1982 911SC Sport, silver with blue interior and a genuine 36,000 miles from new. I've had it for a few years now and absolutely love it. It drives like a dream. Yes it is cosseted and kept in the dry and out of the rain, but when I get behind the wheel it goes like a bullet and I don't hold back!
It never been "˜ragged' or messed about with by "˜boy racers' or bodgers that you see do so much damage to Porsche's. It really is as it came off the production line all those years ago apart from crested wheel centres. The paintwork is excellent as are the mechanicals!
The car handles like a dream; light and responsive with a crisp, clear and easy gear change. I had a '84 3.2 Carrera previously, with the same type gearbox and the gear change on that was awful, despite a so-called rebuild. The gearbox on my car is almost as precise and easy as the next generation type G50, so it just goes to show that a well looked after gearbox (or a quality rebuild I suppose) can be found.
It won the Clubs National Street Class Concours in 2000 "" not one for Full Concours as my back, (and patience), wouldn't put up with it unfortunately.
I did 2,000 miles last year and even took in a trip to Devon & Cornwall's Concours event. This year I may even dare to risk a track day "" but not without a front bra! No Helen "" not a ladies one!
Hope you like the picture.
Regards to all,
Peter

Yeh I have to agree Peter I've always been confused by tales of SCs handling badly, after 144,000 miles, 100,000 of which I've driven and 18 years of ownership and love of the marque I'm treating mine to new stock sports Bilsteins next year and maybe some thicker anti-roll bars too. I've always found the handling to be good but since I modified to a C2 look with a large rear wing and wider 17" alloys the 'planted' feeling has gone through the roof when driven hard. However it has made me a litle more critical of body roll. The loss of weight has made a huge contribution to the steering too. I Like your car, something to be proud of I think.
