Low mileage service?

Has anybody had an OPC "Annual" service done? It is listed as specifically for 986 model cars which cover less than 9000m p.a.
I am not sure if the £150 covers an oil change or not?
At OPC prices for oil I am not sure there would be money left to do much else at ~£100 p.h. labour[:D].
Thanks...

They don't do much more than that at an ordinary service! [&:]

They only time they get their hands dirty is when the polyrib gets changed or when they decide they ought to change the plugs.

I had the Annual inspection done on my '97 986 (you'd be hard pressed convincing the OPC you don't need a major/minor service even though you've done less than 9k) in September at OPC West London......there is no oil change, just a cursory visual inspection which cost me around £109.

I believe it's just a inspection - no oil change. It had been done to mine by the previous owner (£105). I got mine at less than 4000 miles in its first year and the oil was still perfectly clean, it didn't get changed until the end of my first year of ownership (2years old), at which point it was still under 9000 miles in total and had only covered a further 3000 from the previous inspection. The oil was still pretty clean but this time I opted for a basic oil change service, the OPC wasnt keen on letting it go with just another inspection anyway.

I'm having an annual service done in a few weeks by Specialist Cars, £199, which includes an oil change which I requested.

If your car needs an MOT you'll have a much more thorough inspection than the annual check that an OPC would do.

Perhaps, but will that be accepted as the equivalent of the OPC annual check, in case of warranty claims, etc.

That's decided then. I'm off to buy some oil. Halfords have got Mobil 1 at £30 for 4L at the moment, and our friends at Opie Oils have the usual bargains on some fine lubricants.
At the low mileage I do, all I need to decide now is how long I want to go before I get the next OPC service stamp in my book[;)]
