Low whining noise

At low speeds (up to c. 20mph), both when turning and driving in a straight line, there's a low whining noise coming from, as far as I can tell, the front offside area of the car.

Any suggestions as to what this might be?

My initial instinct was that it would be the wheel bearing - which had been noted as being on the way out previously - so I had it replaced (by well known marque specialist) at my annual service 3 weeks ago but it hasn't solved the problem.

My other thought was the power steering but there's no noise when manoeuvring the car on full lock at low speed.

If it was a high pitched whining noise then, I'd say you had my missus in the car with you....[]

Check the disc area for debris catching on the disc, maybe trapped by the shield
