Lowered sports suspension

Hi

I wish to specify a gen 2 997s and want it to appear a true sports car as opposed to an equally legitimate fast tourer [ no bose, phone module, heated seats, sunroof etc ] The engine power is now remarkable as is the performance , the pdk box should enable the power to be used very effectively especially with chrono plus and the simple lines of the car, maybe white with black wheels appeals more than the spoilered gt3, which you can't get anyway.
A question ; has anyone experienced the sports suspension option including lsd? Lsd I note is available with standard suspension and seems sensible in any case and does the lowered suspension option still incorporate the PASM as the gt3?
Expect 3 to 4 trackdays a year, fast rides on the continent and club events generally as well as poncing about at the Ace cafe etc.

Regards

John

I have not experienced the sports suspension, but did at first think that I could specify LSD with standard suspension. In fact, it is my understanding that one can only have LSD with PASM sports chassis and 19" wheels.

If you are an enthusiastic driver & want the best handling/more involving car then go with the all new 20mm lowered PASM option with LSD, frankly its a no brainer for the more hardcore 911 fan

The old steel sprung 20mm lowered option was the best sporting choice for the first generation 997, but you paid with a very firm ride, which wasn't for everyone!

PASM's main party trick is improved ride comfort from stiffer springs, complete with better control & adaptive options, the new Carreras have moved a smidgen further towards the GT market & IMO this makes the new sports suspension even more attractive for the enthusiast!

By the way I wouldn't forgo Bose & phone on a 997S for the sake of a few 10th's of speed, if you want that level of involvement & driver focus you can buy a used 997GT3 for the same money as a well specced 997S.2!

I've specced PDK, Sports PASm with -20mm and LSD - not driven it but seen it - looks fab! It's the only way to go....[;)]

Don't forget Sports Chrono plus - extra sport mode with PDK inc launch control and race track gear strategy!!!

Hi, my C2S was bought used from Porsche GB it had been specced with the sport seats, suspension -20mm and LSD with PCCB no choice of PASM with thios spec.
Being honest its a bit hardcore excellent on good A roads kidney belt territory on my Lincolnshire B roads. Likes the dry as a bump or pot hole will unsettle it in the wet (once used to it, its good fun).
I wouldn't have a 911 any other way though, and hope I get to try the new sport suspension in the Gen 2 with the PASM on the 24th July at Silverstone.

ps I think my signature photo shows how much lower it sits.
