Lowering Carrera 4 Cabriolet

Apologies for only coming on here when I need help! Im unhappy with the current ride height on my 2003 C4 Cab. I don't want to go the full hog and replace full suspension. I was hoping to purchase an Eibach Pro-Kit as I have used with great success on previous cars and lowers about 30mm which is what I am after. I have searched online and can't seem to find a kit for my model.

Q.1 Have I missed something and there is infact an Eibach Pro Kit for my model?

Q.2 Can anyone recommend an alternative? I see H & R do a kit but don't know much about them.

Any help or suggestions gratefully received! All the help I have received has been first class! (Thanks especially to Richard Hamilton!)

I just looked on the Eibach web site catalogue, and they don't do a spring kit for the C4, only the C2.

H&R have a pretty good reputation. The alternatine might be the Porsche X74 springs, which will give you 30mm drop.

I never thought of looking for a Porsche Part! Doh! I'll look up the price and if its not bundles more than the H & R i think ill take the safer route with Porsche.

Thanks very much once again Richard! You always have the answer!

Hmmm. I wish I hadn't suggested that now. I just looked up the price of the X74 springs. A pair of fronts is £400, and a pair of rears £600! +VAT! Ouch!

Ouch Indeed! The H & R springs come in at under £300 so think I'll give them a try. It could just be someone being over fussy but someone on 6 speed online on an older thread mentioned that to do the spring change you should have the MO30 shocks fitted and to upgrade if you don't. I have looked under bonnet at the option codes but cant see one that mentions the struts. Sorry to be a pain but do you know how I can tell? Also please advise if you agree with Mr.Fussy. All I know at present is that the current struts work great so don't wish to replace unless neccessary. I just want to make the car look less Big Foot and more sports car.

BTW thanks for all your help, Really Appreciated!

M030 would be on the options sticker if you had it. It is possible to check if the springs are M030 by the colour dots painted on them.

One of the chaps on here fitted H&R springs on a car with standard suspension without issues iirc. If I can find his posts, I'll add a link to this post.

Here it is: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=590685&mpage=1&key=&#

They were the Designtek springs, not H&R though.

Look at AdeD's profile and view his previous posts for more info.
