Just noticed a Boxster at a dealer close to me for £9995 !!!

OK, it's LHD, it's 'P' reg and it's done 79,000 (which is not outrageous really) but that's by far the cheapest one I've seen (and this is on a dealer forecourt).

Here's the spec...

Make: Porsche
Model: Boxster 2.5 LHD
Body: Convertible
Colour: Zenith Blue Metallic
Year: 1997
Mileage: 79,000
No. of Owners:6
Registration Number: P648 TGU
Specification: FSH , Full Black Leather Interior , 18 Inch Alloy Wheels , Electric Windows , Semi - Electric Seats , ABS , PAS , Driver's Information System , Alpine Hi Fi and CD System , Power Black Hood , Remote Central Locking and Alarm .

Let's hope we don't see any good condition RHD models below this price in 2006 [&o]. But at the same time we should count ourselves lucky as I've heard of some terrible depreciation stories on Beamer Z4s.

Good spot from John - 18" wheels are not permitted on pre-98 model year cars.
Porsche say in technical bulletin grp4 9701 4407 3/4/97 :
"Eighteen inch wheels are not approved for use on Boxsters. Use of eighteen inch wheels on Boxsters under severe conditions may result in structural failures of the body and/or suspension."

It'll be even cheaper after that.

"Darling, I'm not sure the rear parking sensor is working"

That Boxster S has been given a huge shunt which has knocked it into something else. The frontal damage looks minimal and yet both airbags have deployed.

The Boxster heading for the title of entry level Porsche ?
I'm pretty sure thet very soon the Boxster is going to take over from the 944/968 as "my first Porsche".
Good news actually because then we will start to get the specialist's sorting out the inherent probs with the car cheaper and with more enthusiasm than the OPC's cos' there will be a bigger market out there for them. Also tuning bits and bobs.

Next week at Measham Auction there is a RBS prestige sale which has four 2.7's and three 3.2's going through. If it's raining and cold they could be really inexpensive. Also nine M3's but only two Z4's.
