Hi all,
I am thinking of having my cayenne converted to LPG. I have had a few quotes from various companies and thinkg of going with LPG conversions London.
My question is has anybody used these people before or has anybody had AC Stag LPG conversion on their vehicle.
Still waiting to become a Cayenne owner, but the Club I belong to ( for G Wagens) talk a lot about LPG conversions and a number of members have had them done, as with anything - some love it and others have spent a fortune getting their car back to original. I was thinking of getting one for my G a few years back. My issue when looking at it was the additional weight as well as the loss of space in the back (Which would mean me losing my Congestion Charge exemption) as well as the cost and (at the time) disruption.
This is the one that a few of the G Wagen have praised in London. Not sure if you have had a chat with them?

In the end I decided against it because of the cost and weight/space, however I did look at the hho technology and got that instead, cheaper, easier to install and paid back in about 3 months. Mind you there is a lot of people out there (and in the GWOA) who think it is a scam, but all I can say is for me it worked and gave me an overall increase tank to tank of around 16-24% dependant on petrol used (Ultimate BP gives the best results - but bugger if I am paying £1.48.9p/ltr []) and speed/ acceleration, motorway etc etc

Once I get my 'new' truck, I will be popping down and getting one fitted to my KN! It alos does not affect my insurance with the NFU.
Hope this is of help.

Research the best kit for a Cayenne/engine you have by checking out kit suppliers eg Prins, Zavoli etc. Look at Autotrader & Pistonheads classifieds - LPG Cayenne's for sale, speak to sellers ask whose kit converted by whom & what was their experiance, reliability mpg etc.
Autogas 2000 Ltd are the oldest established convertors in this country visit www.autogas.co.uk ask them if converted a Cayenne? If they know which is best kit & is there a conversion agent near you?
Jaymic Systems Ltd www.zavoli.co.uk are well establish convertors who are now Zavoli Uk agents with convertors for Zavoli equipment around the country call them they've used several makes over the years so I suspect they know what's what?
Modern cars use very sophisticated ECU software to control fuel consumption/emissions and finding the best kit to do that is key to getting a good conversion, followed by a good convertor as local as possible for future maintenance!
Expect to pay circa £1600 to £2k, only do it it you intend keeping car long term or do high annual mileage 15k or more? Do the sums expect 10% to 15% less mpg than petrol so AM divide mpg x Petrol price minus AM divide LPG mpg x LPG price(ltrs/gals - 4.546 ltrs = 1 gal) = cost savings PA divide cost of conversion by savings = min time to keep car!
I worked for Calor gas for 20 years driving LPG converted cars for 14yrs ( circa 35k-40k pa) very few problems, no breakdowns.
We had a 1.6Ltr 8 valve Suzuki Vitara (wife's car) converted at 26k ran it for 10 yrs sold in 2011 on 97k still running sweet as a nut! Benefits lower fuel cost, cleaner oil & plugs cleaner internal engine!
