Luggage Blind Hooks

Guest

Afternoon all,

Whilst replacing the battery in my S2 yesterday I noticed that the luggage blind doesn't seem to have attachments to connect to the u-loops on the rear of the boot - there are just two holes towards both sides of the blind that seem to be where some sort of hook was attached previously. I am right in thinking this? And if so, any idea what the correct name is so that I can order some? :).

Thanks in advance.

Hi Matt

The chances are that the hooks are not available seperately but you could contact your local OPC and ask for some Luggage Blind Hooks. Failing that, a bit of nifty work with a pair of tinsnips and a baked bean tin should do the job nicely. [:)]

Do you mean:

Hook 477 863 521 B

which is number 17 in this pic:

Thanks Paul, that looks very much like it, although on mine there are holes for two fixings per hook rather than one.

Matthew, I'm pretty sure I have a spare luggage blind which has the hooks - the springs from the blind are missing so it is redundant and I could remove the hooks; I'll try and dig it out if that would be useful.

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain the plastic cogs from the ends of the roller mechanism?
My luggage blind is missing one but otherwise fully functional.
Any ideas on where to source one?

Thanks
Sian

Back to the old hooks question.

I've been to my OPC, had a hook(!) ordered from Germany, only to be told that they're no longer available full stop. "Perhaps I could try the Internet."

Hmmm. Any final suggestions before I go and butcher a tin of beans?

Hello

The little metal hooks which hold the luggage blind over are really easy to make and dont need to be sort on the net or from OPC, I have made one as it was missing @ work at the mo but if you are interested them i will take pictures of the replacement and give a simple write up of how to construct one

Thanks for the offer Marc. I think I'll have a go myself, using the remaining hook as a template. I've got a bit of aluminium floating around that should do the trick.

While I'm at it, I'll have a look to see if www.944luggageblindhooks.com is available. I think I can see a gap in the market ;)

Lol, ok no worries its quite a easy job but well worth the effort [:)] let us know how you get on

Marc
