Luggage cover lost its returnability!

Hi

My luggage cover doesn't retract and I am sure I saw a post last year which gave clear instructions on how to repair it but I can't find it.

Does anyone know of this post or know how I can repair it so that it retracts?

Its from my 84 lux which doesn't have a split rear seat.

You'll find one in Clark's mate in garage shop manual cargo cover repair. That's how I did mine. It's basicly a long spring inside that you have to wind up in one direction before you put the end caps back on so as it rewinds when it is pulled. Thing is my end caps our now shot so mine is on it's way out again!!! Anybody got any? Or a scrap one that isn't working I may be able to canabilise?

How do you remove rivets? Is it just a case of drilling them out or is it better to use a proper tool for the job?

Drill them out mate with as small a drill a you can get away with. They can be replaced with new ones.
