Lumpy tickover

Wondering if anyone can help on this one -
The tickover in my carrera 2 has become quite lumpy when it is at running temperature and was wondering what the diagnosis is -
Could it be a coil pack/ plug issue ?
Could it be a variocam solonoid issue?
The car seems to run fine but at traffic lights/ in idle it seems a bit lumpy
I know that coil packs are not big money but can anyone enlighten me on costs of a variocam solonoid replacement ?
Any replies greatfully received
Angus

Does sound like the problem I had with the variocam solenoid. From memory it was about £1500 inc vat which did hurt at the time. The good news was that the car ran so well after it took the sting out of the cost. If you click on my user name MJ28127 on the left it will take you to my post on lumpy idle.

Good luck
Matt
