As a soon to be owner of a Clubsport, was there a variation on the design of the Cage 's available? The chosen car has an X arrangement in the door apertures. On looking at other internal cage pics from H&S most seem to have just the one bar in the door aperture, higher from rear of car tapering down to the floor in the footwell.
Any info appreciated

Standard spec was the single door bar - some race series required the extra bar so may have been added.

Thanks for the replies (Ian, Melv), the was raced in Germany and has Wagenpass papers, so the addition could be in line with the mods required for the series.

The Wagenpaß should have two pages attached - with pictures and data of the cage. On these pictures you can see that it was a single door bar. Some race series - as others and you said - required the "X" bar.

If anybody is interested - as these questions come up from time to time - I can send you copies of that original Matter paperwork. (eMail via profile. pls)

So is it the black car from GT classics? Gotta love a guessing game. Pretty car, looked good value.

Will the Clubsport be an addition to your RS Touring or have you decided on a change Simon?
Did you buy the Touring off Andy Mearns by any chance? (nosey bugger aren't I![:D]) I've seen at least 2 maybe 3 in Midnight Blue at his place in the past.

Matt,
Keeping the Touring as it is a great car, I know its against the grain as it isn't very light, but it is a great road car and really engaging to drive. It has a decent exhaust and a Hot Film conversion so it goes ok. I think the Touring badge suits the pupose of the car brilliantly.
Yes I bought the car off Andrew in 2006, the first of the two Midnight Blue's he sold. I think he sold the other M Blue twice in quick succession.
Simon
PS Nothing wrong with being Nosey[:D]
