M030 OE Suspension Upgrade Kit

Hi boys and girls!

I have a 42k miles 996 C4S as some of you may know. Given it is a 2003 car there are a few things I need to sort. One of them is the rusting suspension on the front passenger side of the car. Whilst I am here I am considering changing the suspension all-round. I don't have M030 suspension from new but I am considering obtaining the upgrade kit. Can you let me know if this would affect my cars originality and what your experience of the M030 Suspension is compared to the standard? I have been checking out the kit on Porscheshop.com website.

The only comments that I have heard about the M030 kit are positive. I would certainly go that route when required. Although if you check the Carnewal site it is cheaper than Porscheshop. Good luck whatever you decide.

Just sold my immaculate 53 reg 04 model C4 with Mo30 suspension, lowered and stiffened anti roll bars, all specced from new. Can't comment on standard suspension but suppose that the Mo30 must improve the handling. Beware though that it is rather firm so gives quite a few thumps over rough tarmac. For normal road use standard should be ok but Mo30 would give a bit more performance on track- if that is important to you.

Recently fitted MO30 to my car. Very pleased with results. Ride is firmer but not harsh. I do take my car on the track several times a year & took it around Angelssey track this weekend just gone. Definitely better on track.

Ok sounds like it is worth having - I am getting Porsche West London to install and set up the car - yes I will be paying a premium but it will be pretty much perfect and as the factory intended on 1st May 2017 - I shall let you know how I get on! Whilst I am not doing it for this purpose, I do assume it will make the car a little more desirable at resale but lets see about that!

Hi Type911 can you provide more clarity on what you mean re: True kit/NLA. If there is a more appropriate kit then do give me some guidance.

Porscheshop do state that this is OE kit.

Many thanks.

The kit you list is not for a 996 C4S, its for a 966 C4.

Google Porscheshop reviews..............

The C4S is different

Can you get it to fit? Maybe...............top mounts, shocks and lots more are not the same part number, they may fit but Porsche wont fit them.

Ask PWL, they will tell you no go 100%

Give them your VIN

Hope this helps

Try contacting Official Porsche Centre - some may be able to source stock and often for this kit it is competitively priced.

As mentioned earlier, it can seem harsh on some of our poor roads. It is sublime on good fast road tarmac with total confidence.

Hi Mani
My 996 C2 has factory M030 suspension, personally I find it to be quite a bumpy/harsh ride but many of the roads I use are minor roads with poor surfacing.
On a smooth road the situation is of course very different. I guess it depends where you will be driving it and what you want etc. A lot of personal preference here I think? I would try and have a drive in a 996 with M030 somehow to compare?

NLA = No Longer Available

There's your answer in triplicate :)

If the suspension is tired then stay standard OE setup and refresh components - this alone will transform the car. A trip to Center Gravity is probably your best option.
