M030 suspension on Ebay...

Yes!!
I've got standard factory slush at the moment. Annoying that things like this pop up when the car has just emptied out my pockets ..
 
Looking at this, am I right in thinking that S2s would already have anti-roll bars of this spec? Certainly when I did my front ARBs I ordered bushings of this sort of size and they fit nicely.

Plus the listing seems to suggest that the rear dampers are standard Turbo items, rather than M030 ones, which are also the same as an S2?

To an S2 owner then, the upgrade on offer is just two M030 front struts with springs - no bad thing in itself mind.

 
They are definately not M030 rear shocks as M030 rear shocks are also Koni yellows.

The M030 front ARB is larger diameter though the rear ARB is the same as non-M030 turbos and (i think) S2's.
 
Oooooh, they are up to a reasonable price already which is nice to see. I intend to Ebay mine next year when I fit the KW's and mine were rebuilt 10,000 miles ago and also have the genuine Koni yellow rears as well.

If anyone buys these then Koni agents can rebuild them back to new specification for around £100 a side when they are already off the car
 
Paul do the discs and calipers also have to be changed to accomodate offset of screw position for caliper attachment to the strut or will standard 220 calipers fit, I thought the larger caliper was fitted to the koni strut

No, the discs and callipers bolt on to the hub. The shocks bolt on further back behind the hub.

I'm sure I recently read that to buy the M030 suspension setup new your local OPC would be asking around £3500 for it!!! I don't think your 10% PCGB discount will make that pricetag anymore palatable and it makes KW a far cheaper option.
 
Anyone know what Koni sports dampers (yellows?) can be bought for new, for front and rear?

Speaking for myself, my current suspension has ~125k miles on it and is standard (non M030). If you believe the 70k mile claim on the ad, its a little over half the mileage on my existing ones.

Regardless, as was mentioned, these M030s can be refurbished for a sensible price and therefore become a 'middle point' instead of going all out and spending almost £2k on KWs.

That's my rationale anyway

The only reason is the M030 are easily and cheaply rebuildable to as new spec, whereas if you buy a brand new one be prepared to sit down at the cost [:eek:] £££££££ (if they have them in stock at the time)
 
Or you can modify your original struts with Koni inserts which IIRC were about £150 for the pair. Rear adjustables are about £100 each from memory.

I know to my considerable cost that trying to do a job cheap can still cost a great deal once you have refurbished shocks, bought new bolts and bushes and the like, and paid to have the suspension set up again.

If you can get a full KW set up fitted and aligned for £2K I'd do that.
 
John's right - add another 50% and you are just about there for the full KW installation and setup. Still, it puts a smile on my face everytime I take the car out.
