With the general bad weather at this time of year it is perhaps a timely opportunity to "play in the puddles" in the safe and controlled environment of a disused airfield runway to test ABS braking and thresholds for aquaplaning etc. Although the rain can't be guaranteed, even if there's no puddles it's almost certain to be damp, windy and cold and therefore below the effective operating window of Summer tyres and even if you have Winter or All Season tyres this would be a great chance to see the relative difference in performance! The course will be run by Need for Speed's Gary Marsh who is an ARDS Instructor, MSA Motorsport Coach and SDSA Driving Professional who is also a Macan GTS owner. This is a full day event with lunch at a nearby pub and places are limited so for more details please email me at macan@porscheclubgb.com

There has been a lot of interest & a good response from Drivers regarding this Event. This is a shared driving day with limited capacity for the number of cars/drivers.
[FONT=arial"]With less than a week to go, there are now only 2 places left. [FONT=verdana, geneva"]
[FONT=arial"]Abingdon Airfield provides an ideal environment to develop your driving skills as it offers miles of good quality tarmac with plenty of safe run-off.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=arial"]There will be lots of tried & tested exercises to challenge you & help you understand the capabilities of your vehicle. There will also be a Time Trial layout to fire up your competitive instincts.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
[FONT=arial"]As well as being an excellent learning opportunity, this Handling Course is designed to be a lot of fun & includes a social element with a break for lunch at a good local Pub (The Merry Miller), so there is plenty of time to get to know other like minded Porsche owners.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
[FONT=arial"][FONT=arial"]Clearly the Event is now fast approaching, so I will be finalising the list of attendees in the next few days. If you wish to secure your place please either get in touch with Mike Allen (Macan Register Secretary) as soon as possible or contact me direct [FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]
