Hi all, Newbie here- My wife and I have ordered a new Macan S Diesel. (20"wheels) (Grey Alcantara seating, Volcanic Grey, Sat Nav, Heated front Seats, Pan Roof.
We have been informed by our Dealer March/April 2017 when it should arrive.
By that time we will have enjoyed owning an Audi SE three years and now an Audi S Line Plus three years.
This is a new direction for us, and we are hoping it is the right one.
I'm sure there must be others out there that's had or going through the same experience as us
so we would like to hear your thoughts and expreriences.

Cracking piece of kit, Geoff and you've definitely made the right choice. Finalising the spec will probably be the least enjoyable part of the experience, deciding what to include and what to leave out - sky's the limit on cost, of course! [:)]
Regards,
Clive.

We've had a Cayenne V6 D for over 5 years, and it has been outstandingly good for its intended use. We do have other cars, but as a luxury SUV it has been exemplary.

Looked at the various options for replacement, considered the forthcoming 2017 Cayenne and Panamera, and the JLR products, tested a Macan SD and GTS, and eventually decided that a well spec'd Macan SD would best suit our needs for the next 5 years. Arrives Oct/Nov, and very much looking forward to it.

Our Macan arrives at the end of October. We are upsizing due to growing children and wanted something that offered EVERYTHING in a car from great looks, rarity, Low ish depreciation, fast, comfy, sporty etc etc. It looks to tick every box

always wanted a Porsche, just getting my head round the fact that it will be an SUV rather than a Sports car . ha ha

ours will be volcano grey, 20" sport design wheels, pano roof, light design pack, 18 way sports seats, xenon lights and more

the test drive confirmed we are making the right choice

You have made a wise choice, after only 6 weeks ownership, I am certain it will be all you want it to be, it is for us, (Retired couple - no kids). Mine is a 9 month old SD with loads of extras, many I would not have bothered with but it's nice to have them, makes the car look a bit 'mean'. It's night blue with pebble leather and all the black bits on the exterior. We are really pleased with the SUV aspect, annoyed at not considering an SUV many saloon cars ago, especially in June 2015 when I traded in an XJ for an new XF after seeing the Macan at Cambridge - big mistake. I put it down to the lack of interest in me, information, guidance etc from the dealership. I was there ready to buy but think I was considered to be a time-waster, perversely, a year later, I bought this one while at a Jaguar meet in the midlands and went to Porsche Silverstone just for a look, totally different experience. Never thought about a Porsche until the Macan, I have £3k down for perhaps a GTS (it makes sense financially), so may well be on my second within 9 months! Big decisions to be made about colour inside and out, pretty certain what extras I want.
I would say the Macan qualities are, prestige, rarity, build quality, lower depreciation, it's also quieter than I expected. An SUV gives a better driving position, visibility for all, boot management, easier road use of our poor quality tarmac and a great ride on smaller wheels & fat tyres (I have 19's on PASM).
Volcano grey I like, what colour inside?

Try to get some re-assurance about collection date, March/April is vague, as it has to be, if you are bothered by the VED increases from next April 1st, (pretty steep rises if new car is over £40K - it's a Porsche of course it is!). I put my 3K deposit down 6 weeks ago on the basis that I'll collect a new car before April 1st, although not yet had the call to 'lock down' my spec. It may be a GTS, which makes sense to me financially and it seems that Porsche have increased GTS production for the UK Market. All Porsche centres have different allocation given by Porsche Germany dependent on previous sales figures, so it's a bit of a lottery.

Thought I had deleted this 2nd post, but it's still there.

Black interior which is a no brainier with kids just either side of 10.

Hi All, thanks everyone for your time and trouble replying to our concerns relating to purchasing a new Macan SD.
We are now looking forward to collecting the car, hopefully before April 1st.
Thought we had settled on all choices and add-ons, apparently Porche have reintroduced the colour Agate Grey. Pressure, more Pressure, ????.

Regards Geoff
