Macan Spare Wheel, what size? Any for sale?

Hi All!

Fairly new member so hello!

Literally the day after picking up my Macan I had a side wall puncture and was left stranded for 4/5 hours whilst the AA drove to a different county to get a tyre fitted. Suffice to say I think it might be sensible to add a spare even if the chances of it happening again are minimal.

I have a 2015 (65) Macan S Diesel currently on Spyder 20" alloys.

Local OPC reckons I need 19" space saver but most places I have seen online say this is only for cars equipped with PCCB. May I ask what people have in their cars? I don't wish to argue with them but from internet forums it seems 18 is the right size for my car...

On the off chance, would anyone have a spare, spare wheel?

Thanks!

18inch wheels prob okay but double check. Won't fit Turbo or GTS models as they have bigger brakes.

A collapsible space saver if that is what you want is hard to come by

I have a collapsible 18” spare wheel that was in the 2017 Macan when purchased, but as Chappelle says that will not fit a turbo or a car that has a bigger brake option. Original Porsche ones are difficult to source @ a sensible price as people know their worth, very expensive to add from your OPC, as their is the jack & fitted tray etc. I should also point out that if the car has the additional amp in the boot ( Bose ) then I don’t think it will fit.

That’s what I thought! I have a Diesel so I’m sure it should be 18”.

Are you getting rid of it or it’s just what’s in your car?

sorry not for sale, it‘s what’s in the car. The Macan uk forum is worth keeping an eye on as they sometimes come up for sale.

I have a 2017 Turbo and it is a 19" space saver.. Never used it, but nice to have as I do long journeys to South of France and Corsica every year.

my current 2017 MY GTS doesn't have a spare - just the squirty-can - I priced up adding a space-saver and it was possible - but indeed as stephentodd says, not cheap. given I decided to upgrade it I didn't proceed with that - but it can be done at a cost.

I'm awaiting a build slot and delivery date for my new 2022 macan gts which I have spec'd with a space saver spare. It is a GTS and there is a space-saver spare option for it, as there was for the 2017 GTS - so it is definitely possible.

18* spacesaver is standard for the Macan SD, but is prohibitively expensive to buy new from your PC (you will also need the portable tool kit to make it viable).
You may be lucky in finding one second hand or alternatively consider purchasing a cheap set of winter wheels and tyres. You'll have a full set of spares should anything unfortunate happen.

Regards,

Clive
