Macan Trip to the Champagne Region

Afternoon all!

Can we have an initial "show of hands" as to who would be interested in a Register trip to the Champagne region next year? Timing-wise, we have a blank sheet of paper, but I would have thought one of May, June (not the Le mans weekend!), early July or September - hopefully decent weather, but avoiding the school holidays. I've done it before - Friday morning out on Eurostar, back Sunday afternoon.

Anyway, post your thoughts on here and we can decide if there's enough interest to take it further.

Cheers

We'd be interested, although can't manage May. But you really need to contact Macan Register Secretary, Mike Allen (Spook on here) at macan@porscheclubgb to get the backing and official support from PCGB. [;)] Regards, Clive.

I recently spoke to Mike about a possible Champagne trip with a difference for Macan owners.. Like Clive says, certainly worthwhile having a chat with him..

Despite the fact that I'm shown as a "guest" I have in fact been a member for years! Given Derek's departure (as he's sold his Macan Van), I put myself forward for Asst. Macan Sec. (which has been agreed) and I obviously discussed the idea of this trip with Mike before posting......

No offence intended - I really must get my clairvoyant specs mended. [8|][:D] Regards, Clive.

Is that because you won the quiz at the inaugural meet....?[:D]

Definitely interested. We expect delivery of our Diesel S this September - so next year, early July or late September best for us.

Of course I'm up for it as are Wayne and Jacqueline fellow 991 GT3 owners who I met on track at Anglesey last weekend. Regards, Mike ---------------------- 2014 Macan S Diesel White 2014 991 GT3 Guards Red Replacement Macan later this year!

Funnily enough, we stopped in the champagne region on our road trip this year - at the Auberge Champenoise in Moussy, which I can recommend - nice hotel, excellent food, ridiculously large wine and champagne list, and large tarmac car park. We're atually back there this coming Tuesday night as we're returning for a Xmas stock-up! Direct route from Calais to Epernay is about 3 hours and 23 Eurosovs of motorway, non motorway route is nice but takes somewhat longer - and there's a distinct lack of coffee stops along the way!

Glad the interest in this trip is building....... I can confirm I'm on the case and will give details as soon as I get feedback from the vineyard. As far as dates are concerned I'm looking at a long weekend late June/early July, so if you fancy joining the party, then please pencil in a gap in your diary during this period.

Regards, Mike
