MAF group buy d-day

D-Day approaches on the ProMax MAF kit group purchase - how many of us have gone for it?

I'm in for the option 4 MAF & chip [:)] - guess I'll have to start saving for the other upgrades that it will need to support it [8|]

Well, from the last thread on this subject http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=173310&mpage=2&key=&#175312

We had:

matt951 - definite.
JamesH - definite.
Diver944 - definite.
Peter Empson - counting his pennies and hoping for a lottery win.
lali - Waiting for his car fund to come back from hospital after a walletectomy.
sawood12 - Waiting for a 20% discount.

With you on top of that, I guess we have 4 definites.

I'm still up for it. In fact, I was half way through sending a message to Andrew yesterday when I noticed that somebody had broken into my car and made off with my radar detector and iPod []

Despite being 500 quid out of pocket from that little bit of fun, I'm still on for the group buy. MAF + chip for me as well.

My car is still in the bodyshop getting fixed and i've spent the last few weeks fending off the wife who sees this as an opportunity to get rid of the 944 now a baby is on the way. Basically i've held firm on my stance and now her 5 month old Mini is on ebay!!!! I realise that the chances of a 20% discount is out of the question but I really want to go for this upgrade. Timing is really really bad for me at the moment but I will have a good long hard think about it tonight and will call Promax directly tomorrow if I decide I can go for it at for this group buy. Basically I've got a cylinder head gasket replacement to fund, aparently my clutchplates are very worn and could start slipping at any time and on top of all that there is a baby on the way!!! I've set myself the target of completing my stage 2 upgrade for the rolling road day it's just whether I can fund the MAF at this point.

I take it that Andrew at Promax will calculate the discount as of the orders placed by close of play tomorrow?? By the way I put a guy from the 3.2 Carrera forum onto this group buy (not sure if he would count) so if I don't go for it tomorrow then at least i've got someone to take my place - assuming he's gone for it, he sounded pretty keen!!!!

I really hope I end up going for it - I would be the most jeolous person within a 20 mile radius of Weltmiester if I pitch up amongst a load of MAF'd 944's with my daft flappy paddle barn door AFM.

Andrew emailed me at approx. 2pm today and said that he had 4 definates (incl.me) maybe he'll pick up on this thread.

Hmm, wonder if Andrew received my e-mail then that I sent on 3rd Feb, as with
Cliffordl, matt951, JamesH, Diver944 all seemingly definites too, then that makes 5...

I didn't get an aknowledgement and usually Mr S is very quick to respond to e-mails. Andrew - if you're out there can you confirm I'm on the list as well. Ta

As suspected I think I'm not able to get involved in this group buy at the moment. I've insurance & a service due in the next few days and to top it all I'm getting quite a lot of water getting into the oil (beyond normal condensation) so it may be time for a new head gasket. [:(]
Best regards,
Peter.

Hi Andrew,

That's fine with me. I don't mind waiting a couple more weeks for it. I've been without it for long enough that a few more days won't make a huge difference [:)]

James

Thanks Andrew. No probs re. the delay for me either. I'll send you a separate e-mail to confirm the other items on my shopping list and arrange a date to book the car in.
