On your Turbo, you'll find it on the left hand side of the air box. Here are a couple of photos from my book. It is easiest to remove the MAF with the two Torx security screws before unclipping the connector.

I've just had a look, mine seems to be 90 degrees out to that pic. it looks like access will not be very good. which maf is best on design911 as there are 4 with varying costs. it did improve when I disconnected.

You want the one which is equivalent to Porsche part number 996.606.124.00.

Do you have the standard airbox? The only reason I can think that it is in a different position is if you have an aftermarket one.

It has been changed by a previous owner, i tried linking the picture but its tiny as the forums have a really small size limit. The ones that came up when i selected my car were: Aftermarket brand for £58.50, Autotec brand £97.50, Bosch £200, Porsche £515. Is there any difference between them?

If it was me, I would get the Bosch one. The others might well be OK, but I wouldn't take the risk. You'll find that if you buy a Bosch one, it has the Porsche part number stamped on it.

How about this: http://www.airmassmeterspecialists.co.uk/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=9969837

The Bosch part number is 0280 218 009, so try Googling that as an alternative.

Just changed it this morning, bit of an arse to get access to but i managed it. Seems to have solved the problem of judder at low revs as soon as the accelerator was released (imagine a learner drive bunny hopping). I think i might get a slight increase in mpg as the fuel/air mix should be better.
