Magazine feature help

OK 924 gang, here is an e-mail I've just received from a well known Porsche magazine; can we come up with the 'juicy' bits they want? [;)]

Paul,

How are you?

My name is Nik Bruce, I write for GT Purely Porsche magazine. I'm wondering if you can help me out with source material for a forthcoming feature.

We're running a piece charting the evolution of the complete 924 range, from its inception to its final end, and I was wondering if you might have access to any little known bits of trivia or facts and figures about the cars. We have access to the usual texts, such as Excellence... and Peter Morgan's 'Complete' books, but I was wondering if you had anything a little more juicy you could supply us with just so I can present an in-depth feature. If you don't have anything to hand, perhaps you can point me in the direction of someone who might.

It's going to be a fairly large feature, so it's pretty important that we make a decent fist of it. If you can help me out, you'd be doing me a big favour.

Many thanks, Paul

Nik Bruce

Post suggestions and I will compile them together after a week or two.

I'll start with:

In November 1975, at La Grande Motte harbour, Camargue, South of France the motoring press saw the launch of the new 924 model.

Thanks [:)]

Can't help with any juicy snippets (there's loads more experience and knowledge on this forum than I can offer - for which I'm eternally grateful !!) but keep us posted on the issue date. Sounds like a good one.

cheers ........... Phil

What about the all conquering 2.4 Gulf Porsche owned by someone whose name escapes me. Is it Dave Dennet? Then there is Veronica Robinsons concours winning 924 "scarlett" from R19; Simon Buterworth's 968 powered 924. Dig up the info on the cabrio conversion that used to be offered by a specialist manufacturer,
Highest milage for an original engined 924? (that lets me out)
Most number of 924s in convoy. Must be frontrunner.
