Bought myself an Ally bonnet this morning from a nice old boy down in the South of France with a couple of very special cars in the garage...
Couple of things of note... Porsche invoice for Euro 2500 accompanied bonnet.... no longer available I think so not unhappy to have given Euro 1k for it.
Secondly he explained that you cannot get a certificate of conformity for anything with a welded in roll cage in France... except since 993 RS and Clubsports have VINs in the same range, Porsche France can't tell them apart when the request is made so you can get away with the latter. Sadly this doesn't apply to the 964 RS CS.... hence the irate man at Porsche Fance teling me where to shove it.
Most importantly, given I know you boys are always on the lookout, the guy has a set of Mags for sale, had a good look over them at his request as he says he's had a lot of calls from the UK about them, but no-one wanted to risk the journey to look... I can vouch they looked like the real McCoy (Made By SW and Magnesium stamped into them and a 965 part number in the back of the spokes) and in pretty good condition to me, painted white to match his recently sold RS (to his surprise, new owner didn't want to pay for an extra set), with a "sticker set" of Michelin Pilot Cups on (I think, def. Michelin, def brand spanking new, def. a pretty dubious tread pattern unless u are going on a circuit!). Wheels would need a refurb in his opinion, but unless u were worried about taking them back to silver I'd not be too worried, looked reasonably spotless to me.
He's asking Euro3950 I think.... which doesn't seem bad given I'd imagine the tyres are pretty valuable as well, obviously no use to me, but if someone wants them and is planning to come to the Porsche France celebration at Ricard, might be a good opportunity to ship them back to Blighty as he's planning to be there on the Sunday. Any of the regulars on here wanting to secure them and wander down for a family holiday later in the year, I could be persuaded to collect/store them for you if arm was adequately twisted...
Cheers
