Main beam warning light

My headlights work on main beam and dipped but the main beam warning light will not come on.I have checked the bulb for continuity and it seems ok.I have recently changed the battery so could this have anything to do with it. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

The battery change shouldn't affect it-although the bulb may be OK,it may be the feed to the lampholder or the lampholder itself or the earth/return.
Try a test lamp attached between the lampholder input terminal & earth with the lights switched between low/high beam-if it lights up ,then move the probe to the input set of lamp contacts(with the bulb removed)-leave other test lead earthed-if OK,move earth probe to output set of contacts leaving other test probe on the input contactset-if OK,then faulty bulb indicated
