got a freind who is an experienced mechenic.he is going to help me with the main seal. is there any helpfull tips or perhaps some one could lay out the step by step process of the job ie any special tools i dont suppose there is thanks

Do you mean the crankshaft rear main seal ? Is it leaking oil from the engine/gearbox clutch area ? There are plenty of places older 911 engines can leak from, so are you sure that is where it is coming from ?
If it is the RMS, you'd have to split the engine and gearbox, so most people would wait till a clutch is due and then do it then, if it's not too bad. Sorry lots of questions and not too many answers !
