Major/Minor Service ?

I have a modified 996TT which I bought in Dec 2004. It had an oil change at the local OPC (£358 !) before I picked it up (32,242 miles). I have now done 5 track days, one top speed type event and almost 6000 miles.

I have booked it in to have an oil and filter change and a general look over. Is this enough or should it have a major service ? When are major services done ?
Any help gratefully received.

It's all in the users manual and the service book that you should have got with the car.

It needs servicing once per year or every 12000 miles.
12000 miler is mostly oil change and air con filter plus a look round.
24000 miler is bigger, oil change, air filter, oil filter, spark plugs, etc.
48000 miler includes fuel filter and polyrib belt change as well.
96000 miler you get the transmission and front diff oil changed as well.

Every two years is a brake fluid change.
At 4, 8, 10 and every 2 years thereafter, the airbags get checked.

If you do low miles, it gets modified, to be done on based on time, rather than distance.
You may also get it washed, hoovered and the washer fluid topped up each time.

Wash and hoovered is free but you will be charged a couple of quid for the Porsche washer fluid [;)]

Yes, you will be charged for the washer fluid, even though, as in my case, I already have 2 lying unused in my boot, they will just add another.......
And how about a litre bottle of Mobil 1 'Just in case sir?'Yup, chuck that in the boot with the other 2 litres of 'Just in case'...so that makes 6 bottles of unused stuff in my boot.....just in case.
You got to love it!

LOL, Rodney :ROFLMAO:... this time round I refused to take the 1 litre oil and got some £15 put back as credit... What was amusing was I took my own oil and they returned my remaining 4 litre Mobil 1 and added the extra 1 litre bottle for good measure...

Brilliant!
