Manifold Removal and Wurth Rost Off Ice

Okay, the cars eventually back, so now it's time to start tackling the mechanicals bit by bit.

First job is to fix the ticking manifold, and probably get it cam coated at the same time. The six months that the car has spent in the workshop have contributed to the deterioration of the gasket, so I'm determined to get it sorted in the winter months.

I have two questions:-

1) How easy is the manifold to remove - do I need to take out any other bits to get to it?

2) Where the hell can I buy some Wurth Rost Off Ice, so I can start spraying it in now, for removal in a couple of months. Have tried googling for it, but apart from the Wurth website, and loads of American shops, I only get some stuff back about an Ice Hockey Player!

All sites I found were non UK.
Monday I could maybe find out more as a Wurth guy did the rounds at one of the places I work. But have not been there for sometime.

You can mailorder direct from Wurth UK on 08705 987841 as I recently bought two cans of their Porsche Silver spray paint to refurb my wheels.

Now unused if anyone wants to make an offer [:)]

Had spotted that site myslef, but didn't realise you could fill in an online order, and have them ring me back!

Anybody removed the manifold then?

I bought them a few months ago planning to refurbish my wheels whilst having a summer rest in between jobs. However, I now don't need them anymore [;)]

Aha. You realise the spokes are bent and there are only 2 of them, don't you? [:D][FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Back on topic I would think they come off but are a bit awkward. They are in 2 pieces at least which has to help (1 & 4 and 2 & 3). Mine went on before the engine was refitted. One of my studs sheared when it was being torqued up which you really wouldn't want to happen though. In the end a bit of drilling and easy-out work got it without touching the threads and I now have 1 Lotus Esprit stainless one, as that happened to be in the fastener collection and it was evening.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
