Don't know if it is exactly the same unit as LR sell but yes, it is the same thing and should be fine.

One question before I push the button now though - mbc good enough or is an ebc worth the extra ? power should be around 300-330 ish hopefully so nothing too wild to control. sure you can see my upgrade path Graham re. Maf setup etc. [;)]

An EBC, amongst other things, is much better at holding constant boost right up through the rev range. An MBC just being a valve struggles higher up the range. That was certainly the biggest difference I noticed when I swapped over. You can also run somewhat higher boost with more confidence with an EBC as it is constantly monitoring and adjusting rather than a simply dumb bit of kit.

I did fear that John. Has anyone had any experience with the gizzmo ebc's listed on the rspec website ? Seem cheap compared to the 250 or so for blitz apexi etc.

EBC is best but if you are just running a standard wastegate you will not get all the benefits of an ebc. With a dual port wastegate such as tial or lindsey racing then get an ebc. I got a second hand Greddy Profec spec A for £75 posted.

A manual boost controller be ok but you are more likely to get peak boost fluctuations due to change in weather temperatures.

Tial will be on the way around May/June so I guess I should go EBC then. Anyone know of any used ones for sale ? Or have had dealings with the Gizzmo ones ?
