looked at a 3.4 triptronic at the weekend lovely car.
but should i wait for a manual i am totally undecided.
any advice appreciated..never owned a porsche but hopefully soon.

Try both if undecided - if lots of traffic in your daily drive tip may be good but you may miss the involvement of manual if it's all open road driving you need the car for.both are great though and I would always advise you get the best car you can afford whatever type good luck

Yes as stated by Dyllan try both! Also prior to purchase it would be a good idea to make an options list.

Two list I find best

List 1) Must have and list

List 2) Nice to Have

By having the lists you will avoid purchasing a car and then saying latter 'If only I had waited for a car with'

Top of my Must have list:- Heated Seats[;)]

Having driven both the Tip has much worse MPG if using the car rather than pottering gently about. But try both and the one that makes you smile the most is the one to go for.

Paul, the 3.4 began about 2006-7 and so it will be a 987 S plenty of options available and we all have our favourites.

Most Boxsters in the UK are manuals and so the options you would like are more likely to be found on a manual, look at the options available on the year of car you're looking at and get hold of a buyers guide.

PDK came in 2009ish, previous auto's were Tiptronic either are nice to play with the switches and not leave in auto mode but the manual 6 speed box is about as sweet as you'll find anywhere. Look at a few before you decide which to get.

Important point is to enjoy the search, happy hunting![:D]
