Next Friday (Thursday for the Irish contingent) sees the start of this years Manx event.

The Gala Dinner will be on Saturday night and will feature an auction in aid of 'Parasol' a charity for injured servicemen.
Anondt the items on offer are

A Rally plate and book singed by Barry (Whizzo) Williams. The plater uis also singed by Stuart Turner, Fords Technical and Competions Director from their Glory Years.

A flying lesson.

A litre of Johhny Walker 'Blue Label' Malt liberated from the Prime Ministers (Margaret Thatcher) private stock.

More are coming in all the time.

If you are on the event bring your cash or cheque book.

Actually Geoff, it is Glenmorange (from the same source). I'm surprised whiskey connoisseurs have not commented on the fact that Blue Label, though retailing at over £130 a bottle is not actually a malt, but a blend. Sadly when I checked my cabinet, I discovered that I had drunk most of the Blue Label... The malt whiskey on offer is still sealed... but for how long? [:D]..

And probably the most expensive blend on the market. What sort of Glenmorangie do we have, Derek?

Well nothing very old.... not as old as me[:D] If I were you I'd bid up to a fiver... then we all can drink it! Anyway, it's not the age but where it came from .. legit! And it has been flown at the Speed of Heat.

It will be welcome. The Irish contingent arrived yesterday and have drunk the Island dry..[:D]

Derek

Whiskey - Irish
Whisky - Scottish

As I'm sure some folk on the tour will pointlessly point out or argue[:D]

They should be too busy partying to notice.
