March 2010 event

Some years ago. in November 2005. I organised a Boxster event with a Sunday morning at the OPC in Harston [Cambridge], followed by an inexpensive lunch in the only pub in Foxton and tea in the cottage owned by Judy. The small charge for the teas was donated to a charity. Please see http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=139394&mpage=1&key=Foxton which will indicate the success of the earlier event.

I am thinking that sufficient time has passed and I should try to organise another event on similar lines which is open to 997 owners and indeed anyone else who is interested, from any other Register or Region. The pub seats about 30 or so, although I think that about 60 people turned up at the OPC at the end of the event.

Is anyone interested?

If so, I can contact the OPC [last time they provided refreshments, small gifts, conducted tours round the workshops and test drives by prior appointment]. It might be possible for a car valeter or detailer to join in and show us how to do things properly [as orgainser, I would like to volunteer Emma, my 'new' 997, as the guinea pig for cleaning to professional standards etc].

Now I have given myself sufficient time to get things sorted out properly and someone can deal with PP, photos etc.

Over to you all.

As its pretty much out my direction (I am half way from central London to Cambridgeshire) it would be churlish of me not to declare my interest.

Besides we have not yet met in person, nor has Emma met the beast yet (you need to have spent time on the general discussion area to get that)

Count me in plus 1, if the light of my life is not working/on call[:D]

Surely there must be other takers?

I'm sure you mentioned something about cakes last time?? I'm pretty sure I replied too.

I'd certainly come along to the day, obviously pending the date..

If only I knew how, I could put the names of those interested onto one page at the front of this thread and then add from other forums.

It seems that so far there are about 10 people interested.

I would like to start making preparations asap - I will need to contact the OPC and liaise with the pub etc.

Any more interest?

Add me, too (pending date) plus one, probably.

I'll also see if my cousin in law (993 owner) might want to join? [Harston must be almost half way between where the two of us live]

I've added the names from this thread for you Julian, let me know the additions and I'm happy to add them.
