March 2010 event

Some years ago. in November 2005. I organised a Boxster event with a Sunday morning at the OPC in Harston [Cambridge], followed by an inexpensive lunch in the only pub in Foxton and tea in the cottage owned by Judy. The small charge for the teas was donated to a charity. Please see http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=139394&mpage=1&key=Foxton which will indicate the success of the earlier event.

I am thinking that sufficient time has passed and I should try to organise another event on similar lines which is open to 997 owners and indeed anyone else who is interested, from any other Register or Region. The pub seats about 30 or so, although I think that about 60 people turned up at the OPC at the end of the event.

Is anyone interested?

If so, I can contact the OPC [last time they provided refreshments, small gifts, conducted tours round the workshops and test drives by prior appointment]. It might be possible for a car valeter or detailer to join in and show us how to do things properly [as orgainser, I would like to volunteer Emma, my 'new' 997, as the guinea pig for cleaning to professional standards etc].

Now I have given myself sufficient time to get things sorted out properly and someone can deal with PP, photos etc.

Over to you all.

I have spoken to the landlord at the White Horse in Foxton and he will let us have the whole dining area for a lunch which will not be not too expensive.

All I need is confirmation from the OPC in Harston [Cambridge] and the date.

What would you all prefer? A Saturday or a Sunday? I suspect that it will be a Saturday because the OPC is not opening on Sundyas at present. Otherwise the OPC in Hatfield might be interested but this would then lead to a drive to Foxton.

Over to you all for suggestions.

News at last.

OPC Cambridge is prepared to open specially for us on a Sunday in March. 21st or 28th are the suggested mornings.

This will be linked to a lunch at the pub in Foxton.

Final date to be confirmed soon - but I thought it would be wise to let you all know. Valeter etc., visit to workshop and paintshop, test drives [by prior appointment] can be sorted out.

Any observations, anyone?

Can I please have an idea of names and numbers of people who will be attending?

And can someone, please put this and the associated threads onto one [single] and suitably named thread [I think that Mark Bennett, our computer whizzz knows what I mean].

When the date is finally confirmed, perhaps a mention in PP?

Over to you all.
