PCGB Region 13 Hereford, Worcester & Shropshire
Region 13 Report for March 2012
The trip to Prodrive was a great success and thanks to Steve for looking after everybody. A report by Steve is included here.
Our end of the month meeting at the Chateau, included a number of guests from the local Aston Martin OC members, with many lovely Astons, joining us in the car park. Thanks to Area Reps Fay and George Joesbury, for bringing them along. We look forward to their company again.
We were entertained by Andrew Mearns and James Walker from Swissvax, who, between them gave us a thorough insight into total car care, from bodywork, internals, wheels, windows etc. A huge range of products is now available and a quick mail or call to them can result in a free catalogue and advice sheet.
Many questions and answers were raised with many practical and honest replies given. A few myths were also laid to rest. I have invited them to our Concours at the Chateau on the 26th June, so if you have any more questions or problems or need new supplies, then make sure you come along.
With the visits to Morgan Cars and Curborough now well booked but not yet overbooked, I do not need to dwell on these. Booking details have already been displayed. Incidentally, if you Google "˜Curborough Sprint Track', you should get a pretty good oversight of the track with a couple of videos to play.
We have an invite to OPC Solihull to view their new premises on the evening of Tuesday the 19th June and I understand you should be getting invites. See R9 Report also.
Now, I really must dwell on the invitation to Herefordshire Aero Club at Shobdon. We have been there several times in past years and it has always been very popular but this year, we seem to be down on enthusiasm. I hope that this is just because June seems so far away. Most of you are now old enough (although nowhere near pension age), to realise that time does slip away very quickly.
The date is Sunday 24th June, get there early to avoid the crowds. Free entry if you show your Membership card. This coincides with Shobdon Village Flower show, so there is something for the ladies and you gardeners. The Aero Club are laying on special buses to ferry people to the village, so there will be no need to move your cars.
We always have front row provision along the perimeter fence area and I have suggested that they contact AMOC and VSCC also, so there should be a good display of cars as well as the usual modern and vintage aircraft. Please let me know that you will be coming and let's not let the side down. Picnic or plenty of food and drink on site.
Continental Tyres Talk. There may be a mistake in the advertised date. PLEASE NOTE, The talk will take place on Tuesday the 29th May. On the Tuesday of the 24th April, SGM are bringing some supper Porsches for us to see, so it will be beer and chat evening for a change.
Please do your best to also support the other forthcoming events and let know that you will be doing so, Thank you
