Queen Sq "" WSM chip run, via Mendips & Cheddar

We will meet from 9am at Queen Square Bristol. Park anywhere in the square and we will group up on the exit road as we leave.

This will be the day of the Avenue drivers club where all types of vehicles turn up from really old to brand new and the square is usually packed out.
We will leave there about 11.30 on a scenic route to Weston Super Mare via the Mendips and Cheddar George,
parking on the sea front with a rewarding bag of Fish and Chips.

There was talk about going to the Helicopter museum instead of the sea front but we will stick to the original plan. We will definitely do the museum
in the summer when the sea front is too busy.

Hopefully, time permitting I will check the route out today and post an update later.

With the clear skies and salt on the roads we perfectly understand that some members don't want to take there Porsches out and some may still be off the road,
although it will be great to see them please don't worry about coming along in your daily driver

Best regards Stuart

I'm looking forward to my first Porsche car meet and having looked online the avenue car club , their pictures look great
Hopefully the weather will be good as my car hasn't got wet yet since I've owned it lol

Managed to drive the route in between jobs today, it's one that I travelled many times in my biker days
and had forgotten how good the roads were especially up on the Mendips.

It's not a direct route and from the square to W S M sea front is 43 miles, took just
over an hour with no road works. Parking on the sea front is £5 for 4 hours but the next road back seems to be free as do the side roads.

Some have asked about directions to Queen Square

The post code for the Café that gave the meet its name is, 1 Queen Square Avenue, Bristol BS1 4JA

Come to the end of the M32 and pass Cabot Circus towards the City Centre. Keep in the left lane and as you get to the Centre
you will see signs for Queens Square, Arnolfini and M shed. Keep on the left and you will turn left onto Baldwin Street.
Turn right at the signs for Queens Square, Arnolfini and M shed. You then have to follow a 1 way system around the back of
the square so when you get on the cobles with the water on your left take any of the right hand turns to get onto the square.
Parking on the outside edge is free but not on yellows. You will have to pay to park on the inside edge.

The weather looks to be sunny all day so far, looking forward to a good day out

I will get some route directions printed off and hand them out at the Square

Ted - I think the trick is to arrive around 10:30 as some people are leaving - drove straight in

[:)]Big thank you to Stuart for organising today

[:)]great to meet everybody - any picture available?

Message for Paul - you were right about the burger!!!!

Thanks to Stuart for organising today it was great fun and I loved my first Porsche meet and everyone was very welcoming and loved seeing such a collection of beautiful cars

Hi Nick..Good to see your Kremer. Sorry to hear my low expectations for the burger were proved correct!

Thanks to Stuart for organisation......pity the weather wasn't kinder...maybe next time

Thanks Paul
There will be a next time but with a slight difference.

With the same start venue but with more driving on the Mendips and ending at the Helicopter Museum,
so keep an eye out for that one
