marine blue dash

I have just finished redying a cobalt blue dash to marine blue ready for installing I must say I am pleased with the results. The colour is bang on and to be honest redying it wasn't the pain in a**e I thought it might be. I used Automotive products leather dye and they mixed me up a batch of marine blue 250mls including the leather cleaner and postage it was around 45 quid and they assured me it would do the job on vinyl. I have probably only used a fifth of the bottle having put on 5 coats so I am off to take the steering wheel off now to dye prior to changing dashes tomorrow. According to the bloke who I bought the dye off the key is in the preparation and the new dash did take some cleaning. I did cheat and put it under the shower first and gave it a good wash then dried it off and used the leather cleaner over it 3 times till the cloth was clean. The trick with the dye is to literally dab it on which doesn't then leave streaks. I will put some photos on so that people can compare both dashes when I have them out.
