Maritime Blue

Hi all,

Had an enquiry about a Maritime Blue S2, and how many were made in this colour.

I've only got 2 on the Register Database, an S2 and an S2 cab. Does anybody know any more about numbers?

You do get some strange questions. I don't think I could have resisted the temptation to be flippant.

They made less Maritime Blue than they did Guards Red on account of Maritime Blue uses a rare pigment extracted from Venezuelan quails toe nails.

I saw one apparently stranded when I drove through Edlesborough last afternoon on my way to Donongton, there didn't seem to be anyone about so I carried on my way. Given that there are only a couple on the register, and I've just seen one broken down then surely statistically that must make them less reliable, so I'd recommend you avoid them []

I take it the S2 coupe you've got on the register is mine ( I only ask because Cornbury House had it down as marine blue once). The only others I've seen are the cabriolet you refer to and another coupe which was last seen in a breakers yard on e-bay. The colour was only introduced for the 1991 model year so I assume there weren't that many sold (mine wasn't regsitered until August '92).

There are two coupe's then, yours and mine and there is a cab foresale on Pistonheads as well. I have been told
that only 5 rhd coupe's were made, I am just trying to find out if that is true or not.

As you can tell from his 4000-plus posts he doesn't have a life outside the forum.....[8|]

The 944 forum is by far the most active within the club. This is both because of it's wealth of knowledge and it's often irreverant sense of humour.

It's interesting that Iain is a forum member, and Tony Shannon has the second Maritime car so expect him to be reading this. Could we possibly have the first 100% of one colour 944 owners on the forum??

Not misinformed, mixed up, the toe nail clippings go into the latest range of 911 metalics as a renewable source of sparkly bits, you must have been thinking of the rarer, outer mongolian rocking horse droppings, after a night on the blueberries and quince.
