Mass Air Flow conversion on Turbo.

Have had a bit of a poke around under the hood on the 951, and discovered it has an Autothority MAF conversion fitted. Anyone here come across these before?

Come across them on RennList, etc. Not sure that they're available anymore and I can't remember if they were a true MAF conversion or one where the unit massaged the signals into something that the DME was expecting?

I believe it has a pukka MAF, harness and a replacement set of chips, Mixed views on how good the setup is on the Net as far as I can see, not sure if there are any other mods, although the previous owner seems to thing it may have a different turbo fitted.

I have a SciVision which is the one that the electrickery box intercepts the MAF signal and spits out something in AFM lingo for the DME. Despite not being a true MAF set-up it is much better than the old barn door. I find it reduces lag a bit and helps the car breathe a bit better across the rev range and releases a few more ponies at the same time. Again not available any more but you can readily get a hold of the correct Bosch MAF sensor should you need a replacement, which I did after going through a huge puddle a while back!! []

I thought you had to go standalone to get true MAF ? Most after market standalone set ups seem to use just MAP.

Does that make it true MAF ? I would have bought an M-Tune but posts appear on rennlist occasionally regarding Idle issues.
