Please tell me what m I'm doig doing wrong?

once i have washed my car, i dry it using a chamois then finish it off with a micro fibre cloth.
this i've done on my last few cars, but i have recently purchased a new 997 gen2, and when i try to this all i get is massive static especially on the glass!

what am i doing wrong? i thought it was the clothes so bought some new ones, still the same!
not only do i get small traces of the clothes all over the glass, im starting to worry about blowing something which probably wouldnt be under warrenty!

your thoughts are welcomed (and yes i know if i drove it more and washed it less this wouldnt matter)

All the detailing boys gave up on chamois and use a drying towel instead. I've used a Maguires one for ages and its great, and reduce the risk of micro scratching the paint.
Here's one from the Clean your Car site: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/microfibre-cloths/sonus-der-wunder-drying-towel-pkg/2/prod_84.html
Hope that helps, as always the www.detailingworld.co.uk site is the slippery slope for those with too much time on their hands (that might be me then).
