STOP PRESS
May Day Invitation
Members have been invited by Colin Belton and Marc Clowes, principals of Ninemeister, to their premises at Bank Quay Trading Estate, Warrington WA1 1PJ, from 1000 - 1400 on Saturday 1 May, to celebrate the "˜launch' of Graham Marginson's "˜new' 993 Speedster. (See also May 12 Club Night below.)

Next R5 Event
The next R5 event is the Gawsworth Hall Classic Car Show on Monday 3 May. (See "FORTHCOMING EVENTS" below.)

New Regional Event
As you will be able to read in the June PP Newsdesk, and note in your diaries, our resurrected Regional Event will take place at Arley Hall, approximately mid-way between Knutsford and Warrington, on 26 September, starting at 1100. Having recognised the sometimes-limited appeal of traditional car festivals, "Porsches at Arley Hall" (as the Event is now called) will combine traditional elements with a range of family attractions. So cut out the Newsdesk article and stick it on the fridge as a reminder to come along and enjoy a day out with fellow Porsche enthusiasts and their families.

NB Please also look out for my monthly up-dates on the preparations for the Event and how you can help make it a success.

Apologies
Apologies for the mix-ups in the compilation of the May edition of PP which resulted in the names of last month's new members being relegated to the end of the Recent Events section of my report, and somehow transformed the opening line of the May 9 Club Night announcement into "There was a presentation "¦"¦"! I hope the latter error did not cause too much confusion.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS
May 3 Gawsworth Hall Classic Car Show
R5 will again be kicking-off the "˜northern' Porsche display season with its stand at this popular event run by the Richards family at their historic home, which is signposted from the A536 Macclesfield to Congleton road. The event starts at 1030 and tickets (£3.50 per head for exhibitors) are available on the day. The R5 stand will be in its customary location (follow the Porsche signs to the top field, taking appropriate care where the track is less smooth), together with the trade stalls. Complimentary tea and coffee will be available in the marquee, which will also serve as a refuge for members should the weather be at all inclement.

NB Thank you to those members who have already volunteered to help set up our stand on the day prior to the event and/or man it on the day. A couple more would make the various tasks that bit easier, so please contact me if you too can help, preferably by e-mail.

May 12 Club Night
At The Deanwater Hotel; featuring a presentation by R5 member and former RO Graham Marginson on his unique "˜new' Porsche. It seems that, contrary to popular belief, official Porsche AG records show that there was a very small number - probably less than five - of factory-built 993 Speedsters. Graham will both tell us and show us how he now owns another built to the same specification.

June 9 Club Night
This, our annual Open Evening visit to PC Wilmslow, will follow the usual, but none-the-less popular, format and include a display of less common Porsches, a quiz, discounted parts & Porsche Design Selection items and a complimentary buffet. This year's event will have an off-road theme, portrayed by a display of Porsche rally cars and the soon to be launched new evolution Cayenne.

NB As yet we do not have sufficient display cars, so if you have a rally car that you would like included please contact me, preferably by e-mail.

June 13 "Summer Sunday"
There will be a "Summer Sunday" outing on June 13, but I have been too busy finalising the formal aspects of the arrangements for "Porsches at Arley Hall" to organise it yet. Accordingly please see my June Newsletter and/or the Forum for further information.

July 17/18 "Cholmondeley Pageant of Power"
R5 has a club stand reserved at Cholmondeley for our and neighbouring Region members and I have a few free Paddock Enclosure tickets (ordinarily £25.00) left for each day, which will be allocated on a first come - first served basis. That said, in order to get one you must make a commitment to be on the stand, rain or shine, by 0800 (or soon after), and to stay until 1700.

Additional, discounted, Paddock Enclosure tickets are also available for either the on-stand or general parking areas at £15.00/day - with no restrictions on when you come and go in the case of the latter - and for the Saturday evening fireworks concert, also at £15.00. To get any of these you will need to contact me - preferably by e-mail - to obtain the relevant ticket ordering code(s).
