Member News
Welcome to new members Marlon Smith (Halebank - 993), Paul Evans (Prescott - 996 C2 Cab.), John Halton (Horwich - 993), Adrian Baillie (Runcorn - 996 T), Anthony Blain (Sale - 996 C2), Simon Bates (Taddinton, Buxton - 964 RS) & Steve Cheetham (Gorton - 944 2.7).

Your fellow R5 members and I look forward to meeting you at a Club Night or at one of our other forthcoming events.

Next R5 EventThe next R5 event is our May 11 Club Night, at the Deanwater Hotel, starting at 2000, during which we will have a "Guess the Owner" competition. See "Forthcoming R5 Events" below for more information.

Manchester Airport Aviation & Transport FairPCGB R5, along with other car clubs, has been invited to mount a display of members' cars at the above Fair, which takes place at the Runway Visitor Park over the weekend of 9/10 July. All cars are to be in place by 1000 and remain until 1600. Entry (ordinarily £7.00) will be free for the driver of each display car.

In addition to the aforesaid car club displays, there will be all manner of transport related exhibitors, including societies and model makers, the Concorde, Nimrod and other preserved aircraft that reside in the Visitor Park, airport vehicles and hot air balloons, plus over 200 trade stalls selling transport collectables, memorabilia, photographs and artwork.

Would members who are interested in participating in the proposed display please contact me before 15 May, amongst other things to let me know which of the two days they favour. We will then endeavour to arrange a display on the day favoured by most members.
R5 Planning QuestionnaireTo date I have received completed Questionnaires from just six members. The objective of the Questionnaire (which issued with my March Newsletter to all R5 members for whom the Club has an e-mail address, and has been available at subsequent Club Nights) is to ascertain members' preferences for the types and frequency, etc of activities that the Committee organise. If we don't know your preferences we cannot take them into account.

It goes without saying that I would also welcome any observations you might have on other Club matters not covered by the Questionnaire

Car for SaleAn R5 member is selling a 944 Lux 2.5, with 127k miles on the clock and an interior described as "mint". Please contact me if you are interested.

Geometry CheckR5 member Duncan Moules recently discovered what he describes as "the alignment heaven"; where he had a comprehensive check & adjustment of his car's suspension geometry on a sophisticated Hunter DSP 600 - 4 rig for about a third of the price charged by some other establishments using the same model of rig. If your car needs such a check and you would like to know more about Duncan's experience, I'll put you in touch.
