maybe a silly question

Hi again, i was trying to take my badge panel off today and i knew i had to lift the headlights in order to do this.

So took the rubber cover off the motor and started to wind, the lights lifted and i thought brilliant until it kept turning and the lights went back down again. This happened a few times and i just ended up leaving it.

Do i have to have the battery disconnected in order to wind the lights up manually?

didnt have my brain wired up today fellas sorry haha.

all sorted and off to the bodyshop now
