Me and my 944 have both had a vacation

Mine was to San Francicso for 2 weeks, whilst my 944 went to Hillcrest (Porsche Indie in Henley). There she had a new clutch fitted, new engine mounts, repaired brake calliper, fresh filters and oil (engine and gearbox) and a thorough mechanical assessment of suspension (which is all good).
Car now runs like dream. The new engine mounts have cured an irritaing buzz at around 3000 RPM. The old clutch had done it's best for 149,000 miles. Guide tube, release bearings, etc were all replaced and the release fork was reworked (welded up and ground to shape) to fix a slight buckle - this bit cost £40 instead of the £250 a replacement would of cost. I can't believe how well she drives now, the clutch is a light as a feather and the brakes are amazing! Simon Hope (owner of Hillcrest) is a master engineer for the 944. He also cleaned up my starter motor connections and fixed the sluggish starting problem.

I bet San Fransisco was a nice treat and even better to come back to a refreshed classic, always a nice feeling on an older car. Enjoy [;)]

Thanks guys. Was desperate to take 944 out for a spin today, but a friend's birthday took priority. Gave it a quick wash instead :)
