Mechanic for 993

David Koppel

New member
Dear all

I have just bought a 993 2S, my first Porsche, and will, no doubt need a mechanic to look after it. Can anyone recommend a mechanic in Glasgow to cosset the new arrival or am I better going to the OPC ?

Any suggestions would be welcome

Thanks

David

peter mccann at motortune in shotts is v.good and not to expensive, 01501822247

you will find the mail dealer v.expensive and the service is c***,

scott.

Yup, I'd vote for Peter too, and if you do use the OPC, Edinburgh has a better reputation than Glasgow.

And another vote for Peter. Only down side is he's really busy because all us Scottish 993 owners keep recommending him! And his number 2 mechanic has also just taken a year out to do Austrialia!

He did my clutch recently and I actually came away spending less than he had originally estimated. But he did take a couple of weeks to fit it in and had to hang on to it for 10 days to find time to get it done. But I'm happy with that - much prefer to have someone who cares.

He just can't stop talking about how much he likes 993s.

Don't touch the Glasgow OPC with a barge pole...

Someone has recently recommended someone in Glasgow - I think name was George Morrision - there is another thread here somewhere.

Hi

Thanks for all the advice.

The car: 993 2s 1997 tip, red calipers and seatbelts, 76000 and clinbing, sourced by Adrian Crawford. I tried to attach photos but failed....any advice

David

Geo Morrison is on 0141 643 1768 his work is very good I have usd him and alot of the guys in the club, the only problem seems to be that when you get a price for doing a job he finds something else needs done and your estimates goes out the window ..best to go and discuss what you want done and agree a price and stick to it There is also a company RPM in Maryhill area but no nothing about them
