Always steered away from mechanical polishers/ wax as I have no training . However although I believe I follow good practice when washing my cars eg wash mitt put in washing machine each time -etc etc and finishing with Swissvax Zuffenhausen I have found the Black Porsche always has swirls and at the rear the clear coat had become really misty due to the car cover - it does live outside.
Anyway after a bit of internet research I purchased a Dual action Polisher from a well known manufacturer last week that fits onto a standard drill and has various pads you simply interchange with Velcro .
Any way this weekend spent 3 hours in total working steadily but no rush and polished the entire car with the "swirl remover " their lowest abrasion polish on the machine and then applied their synthetic wax to the whole car .
I' m really pleased with the results and the kit was really easy to use and does not feel that it has abraded the clear coat at all - the swirls are definitely much reduced - whole kit including mechanical polisher and set of polish and pad and wax and separate pad was unde £80.
I'll try to attach some photos ( I always struggle with this) so you can make your own minds up as to results
