I had this problem exactly 3 years ago, when someone overlooked renewing the FTP site subscription, where all the articles and photos for these pages are hosted. Therefore, all images and links in these sections of the forum are inactive. I've put in a support request, so we'll just have to wait until someone is available to deal with it.

Meantime, if there are any articles you need urgently, drop me an email (via the link below my avatar picture) and I'll see what I can do.

That's really odd. I've not heard of any other forum issues but the links all say "porscheclubgb.org not found"? It should be .com, or are they hosted somewhere else?

They are hosted elsewhere - on a site at https://www.porscheclubgb.com/legacy/ which Anthony Shuker set up some years ago for the Registers. Several of the 993 & 996 articles are hosted there, but I doubt many other Register secretaries know about it. It was 3 years ago that Kish Hirani renewed the subscription, and I think he probably renewed it for 3 years - hence the problem now.

Hi Richard, I've never heard of that in ten years, so I doubt the current IT team have any clue about it. I'd get on to Chris James ASAP (he doesn't use the forum), and get it all hosted on the Club's official site. Anthony doesn't often log in here either, to my knowledge. This sounds like a recipe for disaster: if we have important info hosted on sites not within the Club's usual addresses it's probably not supported or backed-up. Just goes to show how important it is to hand over between new and out-going Directors! []

Last time it happened the hosting company were able to restore it from backups. I've emailed Chris, and hopefully he will look in to it. Strange that the IT Director doesn't keep an eye on the forum though. I would have thought it should be part of his remit.

Indeed.... Trouble is that there isn't a queue of people offering to take the IT role on, so you have to work with the person who volunteers. It all goes to show that everything needs to be brought in to the main Club site, to avoid possibly losing it all. This is something the RS should be addressing immediately, but I don't know who the 996 RS is I'm afraid!

With well over 100 RSs, ROs, Board members and moderators to deal with, we rely on people telling us if there's been a change... Andy isn't on my list of Register Secretaries, as no-one told us there'd been a change, but if you want me to I can add him to the volunteers list? [:)]

Hi Paul & Richard. Noticed this after Richards posting last night, not sure what help I can be in this situation, but Paul if you feel that there is anything I can do then please don't hesitate to call me on 07775138527 anytime. I was Johnny's assistant prior to taking over the roll last month. Richard can you please cc me in with any emails you feel relevant. Thanks Guys Andy

Sorry Paul - I wasn't having a dig, hence the smileys. You would have thought that club office would have updated your list, as they had updated both Porsche Post and Porschefile with Andy's details. Maybe you could update Andy's forum title to '996 Register Secretary'?

Richard, Thanks for reporting this through our support mailbox, which is monitored by our team, and is the best way of reporting potential technical problems or other support issues. It has now been resolved and the links I have tested are working. Regards, Chris
