Memory when replacing battery

I think my battery may be a little weak (even after charging) so i am thinking of swapping it but before i do will there be any issues with aftermarket alarm / immobiliser if i swap and disconnect without keeping the live connected to a memory charger?

What have you guys done in the past.
 
Depends what you mean by "aftermarket" - if you mean the PA1000 (which is not factory fitted, but was fitted once the cars reached UK) then it survives complete disconnection just fine. It does not lose the knowledge of which remote controls it is paired with.

It will alarm when you reconnect the battery, so worth switching off the siren if you have a key for it.
