Sorry chaps.. been out of the loop recently. Lots of work things etc etc. I've also discovered some of the dreaded orange stuff on my 911... []

Brief note to say Merry Christmas. I hope you get everything you want from Santa. I'm sure if you ask him he can deliver an extra 2 things for you [;)]

I attach some Porsche pics from the last year.

Take care

Likewise - merry Xmas guys!

My '12 is receiving a long awaited xmas present - a new battery panel and front suspension pan! Well you have to make the most of all those xmas days off work after all...

Gav would be interested to hear about your experiences as I am going to need the exact same thing. Jon said the repro panels are less than great, did you get a Porsche one? Who is doing yours?

Merry Xmas to you all

FRONT SUSPENSION PAN, major pain if you don't use the puka panel, the repo one was just not the correct shape, it was bashed about until it no longer look like something you would put on a car and it still did not fit. I got the correct Porsche part and all was well, perfect fit. I guess (not sure) the fit/line up is important as it control the location of the front suspension, the Porsche part was about £100 more, if you want a factory toe eye it is about £200 more again ( I just chopped of the old one and had it welded on).

I got the panel from transend, not sure were Peter got it from.

Hope the replacement goes well Gav P.

Gav - Im doing it myself. Spent yesterday morning drilling out spot welds, which is the easy bit. The reason for replacing it is that the work has already been done once (in the states), but they did an awful job and didnt bother replacing the top half (the still rusty battery support panel). Also, some muppet had jacked the car up on the "new" panel and had badly dented the box section part. I'll take some piccies and post them later in the week...

The replacement panels are as used by Nick. They look to be good quality, but you never know until you fit them of course.

Incidently, panels in the states for this job can be had for around $200, whereas over here the going rate is about £200.... I looked into the shipping costs from the US, and the total cost then works out also to be £200... I dont know how the quality may differ between these and mine.

Anyway, Isnt xmas great? Loads of days off to finally do some jobs on the '12!!!

When shall I bring mine round then? [;)]

Wish I had the resources to do it myself, havn't even got 'the leccy' at the lock up, not sure if sooper glue would work.

I think I will replace the shocks all round at the same time too and the rest of the front suspension could do with an overhaul as well...

my god Gavin... hav u come into money...or this there something your not telling us about?? Its all those late nights on East end corners??[;)][;)]

Nice to see a real Porsche on the 912 bit.
