Hacki,
Are you active with the Porsche Club of Deutschland, or a group of RS owners? I'm wondering whether we could organise an Anglo-Deutsch get-together sometime. Maybe next Spring/Summer?

Could do something like the TechnoClassica weekend, sample some of the local Bier und Currywurst then a couple of days at the 'Ring. Or I'm sure there's plenty of other things of interest in der Farterland.

Just testing the water for now,
Rich

Need to think about that.... ....definitely no Carreraboy, no Melv, no ChrisW, no 964RS, no Charles, none like all the other great fellas over here. Porsche scene is different here, but maybe I know a few nice guys. I also don´t know how many Germans are British humour proof - not too many, I´m afraid. For sure we can have a lot of fun here, no doubt. We also need to combine it with a track day, whereever. I need to do some brainpicking. Rgds Hacki

Hacki. I have been to Papenburg with the friendly German Porsche Forum. All very welcoming for we were the only Britz. Best we could do was "Achtung Spitfire" One of Edo's people was there and I made lots of new friends. Thank God there was no Carreraboy, Melv, PhilRS German equivalent! ;O)

[:D] Maybe we can warm up those contacts, too. Papenburg is very nice. There´s a perfect copy of the Hockenheim short circuit - and a high speed banking section, etc. It´s like a big playground. Unfortunately the area around is boring. Hacki

Leer was full of Claudia Scheiffer look alikes. My head was on a swivel. The autobahn is unrestricted and quiet to Leer so V max easy :O). Was only passed by 996EDO with 650bhp. Hockenheim track is fun but oval was out of bounds due the death of a Porsche test driver due to bowout at 300kph.

Oh no! The French call us "Roast Beefies" and now you Germans are calling us "Marmalade Munchers"! If it was good enough for Paddington Bear then it is good enough for me![;)] ....did you know...Jeremy Clarkson's family in Doncaster (just down the road from me!) used to own the factory which used to manufacture those Paddington Bears which we all had as children (well I had and so did my wife).[8|][8|][8|]
