Meyle Lower control arms - anygood?

I need to freshen the front suspension up and I have put this job off until it's a bit warmer. Well now it's warmer the deals for TRW control arms seem to have gone for a while. But I have seen a kit that contains Meyle arms that looks good value.

But are they any good?

I heard recently that the TRW items were in short supply, so I expect that is why the deals are not around. I would have thought that the Meyle ones would be up to scratch, being German made, and I assume TUV approved. The "coffin arms" are cheaper here: http://www.incarmotorfactors.co.uk/en/1117203-meyle-porsche-996-998-track-control-arm-4160500000.html

Thanks for the link, but I managed to find a supplier of the TRW parts MRAUTO.CO.UK is selling them for £65.80 each. So I had to go for it. I'll wait and see what gets delivered.

Check with any vendor if they have stock on the shelf before you order any coffin arms!!

Every site lists all the different versions at super prices but they may not have any!

Let us know how you get on please

About time too.

These badboys arrived today. They cost £105 each but I think that seems pretty reasonable. Once my drop links arrive I'll get my hammer out!

Incar Motor factors. TRW JCT1170. I was surprised when they arrived, as I expected another email saying they were out of stock.

Bl**dy Motor factors. The original company, that took my order for TRW Control arms and Drop links seem to be useless. First of all they came back and said they didnt have stock, and don't know when they would have some, so why take my order?

So I have been waiting for a refund, and my drop links. I check online to see the order status, and note that they have changed the spec of my drop links to cheaper ones as they don't have stock of the ones I selected. It gets better. The cheaper ones are £20, and the ones I ordered were £32, but the order total hasn't changed. [] I cancelled the order, but as they are packed they will still get shipped, and I will have to reject the UPS delivery.[]

I wonder how long my two separate refunds will take. Oh the fun of online sales.[]

Oh dear. Surprising they are selling these, they know the quality, 50% failure rate, dont even think about it.

Yes, they work fine on all Porsche but the coffin arms wear at the ball joints which you cant replace

I have just had delivered some FEBI droplinks. Are these anygood? I did order the TRW ones, but got these instead.

Would it not have been easier and more viable to have gone for higher priced known items rather than chase your tail for a few ££'s?

The suppliers changed my order. I ordereded the more expesnive TRW droplinks, and they replaced them with FEBI ones. So I was't chasing the ££'s. ust getting hacked off waiting for the right parts to arrive. If there wasn't much/any difference I was going to live with them and just ask for the difference back.

Febi parts are made by Febi-Bilstein who are the same people who make the dampers for Porsches. The other suspension parts on the car are made by TRW. Hamburg Technic parts tend to be made in China/Taiwan. I would worry about buy cheap buy twice in this case.
