Michelin pilot sport cup tyres

Hi,
Has anyone used these tyres on their 993?
Ive been using Pirelli pzero Corsas for my regular trips to the Ring, but there does not appear to be much tread on the michelin tyres.
I usually do about 1500 miles there and back including laps.
Im assuming they will not be so good in the wet, but will be able to manage that.
Just wondered if you had any experience out there. ..........

Hi Dan

I used MPSCs on my 964 for a few years and made several trips to the Ring and Spa with them. Fine for road use and superb on track but they are pretty awful if it is wet and there is any standing water. As I am sure you know, that area is notorious for its heavy rainfall and I would say if the track is very wet you would be better off staying off it. I also had a couple of scary drives back through Belgium on the motorway at 50 mph due to aquaplaning - they really don't clear water well at all.

I think the Corsas are a better all rounder, the MPSCs are a little better on track in the dry though.

Regards

If u can get the Corsas in the sizes you need, stick with them. I couldn't get 17" recently.

Thanks chaps.
No I cannot get Corsas anymore, I will be fitting the MPSCs next week.
Ive done a 1000 or so laps of the Ring, so wont bother about going out in the rain. I will just nick my mates Evo 6.
I got these tyres cheap.
Not doing so much Track work these days so I had gone to Michelin Pilot sports and found nearly as much grip with them,so once the cups have worn out, the sports will do.
Off to the Ring on the 10th May, not sure if any of you are going.

More dry grip then you could almost imagine possible.. But they don't let go very gracefully. In the wet you need to run a higher pressure to 'lift'the outside edge on the tyre up and run on the 'groovy' bit.
