I have been using these tyres for track days.... all fine, except for the last couple of days (Silverstone and Brands).

Particularly in left hand bends (first noticed at Abbey at silverstone) there is a feeling of the tyres rubbing on something or even like there is a puncture. Really strange, but not a nice feeling when giving it full pace on the main straight at Brands.

It only seems to be a problem when the tyres are really hot when I have really being going for it and kicking some easy GT 3 / Turbo arse. I dropped the pressures down from 36 to 30 at Brands and it seemed a bit better, but still not rock solid.

Does anyone else have this? Do you fit spacers to push to tyres away from the suspension arms at the rear?

Anyway - want to get it sorted before Spa in Oct.

Thanks

David

Could it be that as the pressures come up, it's rubbing against the cat heat shield? There is very little clearance and unless you do a few laps then let the pressure down, it could well rub there. What wheels are you running - offsets etc.?

Thanks guys

I am runnuing all standard wheels and settings.

There is still a lot of rubber stuck to the tyres from Silverstone - seems to take ages to scrub off.

Maybe they've just had it David -any idea how many heat cycles/track days they have been thru???

David. The pressures you quoted, Are they hot or cold pressures.??
I was told to run the MPCups at 24psi COLD...They worked great at that temp...Probably went up to 30ish psi when hot....

PS. If anybody is interested , i have a pair of fronts MPC,s 205/50/17,s spare. Part worn with approx 3-4mm of tread.. £30 the pair... + p+p....Interested.??
